English Month

The National Reading Month is celebrated in Month of November. In this year's theme is Pagbasa: Susi sa magandang kinabukasan. It promotes the love for reading and it's importance. Everyone knows that reading is important, but but have you ever asked yourself why is that so? Today the ability to read is very important and highly valued. Reading is a great source of knowledge. Through reading, you begin to understand the world. Through reading, you expose yourself to a new things, new ways to solve problems, and new ways to achieve one thing. Who knows through reading you might find your new hobbies. Who knows you might actually learn one thing that you really love and it may end up becoming your career and success in the future. It is important to develop the habut of reading not only for knowlegde but also for personal growth and development. One needa to read to experience the joy of reading.

FILIPINO VALUES

Every November, Filipino Values Month were celebrated. This year's theme is “Mapanuring Paggamit ng Gadyet: Tungo sa Mapagkalingang Ugnayan sa Pamilya at Kapwa.” Gadgets are electronically simplified applications that make work easy. It  plays a significant role in our life. Nowadays there is no work which cannot be done without the assist of machines and there is not a single human activity where machines don’t have to be used. No one can deny the fact that gadgets have not only simplified our lives but also made them more comfortable. Gadgets are not just meant for entertainment they even improve our lives a lot. Gadgets are very useful but also have negative impact if they are over used. Have you ever thought about the impact of gadgets on family time? United Nations Day

United Nations, also known as UN, is an organization that has done the most to maintain peace in the world. It was built after World War II. UN has been working aggressively towards well-being of human societies worldwide. Every October, UN is celebrated. It is to raise public awareness about the work it does every year to provent world peace. It is important to keep people aware about the role of UN in improving the world. United Nations Day provides us an oppurtunity to celebrate the success of an organization that works towards maintainibg global peace. And the most important thing why we celebrate UN Day is diversity. This day reminds us about acknowledging and accepting cultural diversity. Everyone should feel protected, this is why the United Nations is called a family, where each and every person works and contributes making other people secure, protected, and continue working towards a better world.

Discover Science

Celebrating National Science Month is one of the most exciting event here in Ilocos Sur National High School. It is celebrated every September of the year. Celebrating the National Science Month encourage us to learn more about importance of science in our life. During this month, many scientific activities and programs through the participation of students. This activities and programs enhances our ability. Schools also organize science fests and exibitions which gives oppurtunities to the students who want to show their invention or experiment. It is about showing young people what is possible through science, showing abilities and oppurtunities. Science is everywhere or anywhere. Science helps us to realize the things around us. National Teacher's Day

We all know that Teachers is very important in our lives. They serves as our second parent. Teachers who help us, students achieve whatever ambitions or dreams we set for ourselves. They are referred as the fortune creator of us students, as they are responsible for bringing our future in bright directions. "Gurong Pilipino: Turo mo kinabukasan ko".Every year, we celebrate Teacher's Day on 5th September. It is celebrated to show to our Teachers that they are important and special. It is the day we get chance to thank our teachers for their sacrifice,effort,hard work and love. We should love, respect and thank our teachers for serving their complete life for teaching us. We are so lucky to have them.

SONA2018

July 23,2018, President Rodrigo Duterte delivered hus third State of the Nation Address or SONA. President Duterte detailed his current and future plans in our country. I think his biggest project is about the war on drugs. Drugs are the problems that if it's not stop immediately they will spreadto the people. "Your concern is human rights, mine is human lives", the President said. It is because the terrible harm that they cause to the people and communities. He also warned rice hoarders to stop illegal practices and the irresponsible miners to stop destroying forests. Now that the people heard his plans, we are hoping to bring changes or development in our country. But he can't do it alone, we need to support him.

FILIPINO: WIKA NG SALIKSIK

Ang buwan ng wika ay isang taunang pagdiriwang ng Wikang Filipino bilang pambansa at malawak na wika sa bansa.Ito ay ipinagdiriwang tuwing Agosto. Ang buwan ng wika ay higit pa sa pagdiriwang ng wika. Itinatampok din nito ang pagpapahalaga sa mayaman sa kultura ng ating bansa. Ang tema ngayong taon ay Filipino: Wika ng saliksik. Ang tema ay kumikilala sa wikang Filipino bilang midyum sa paglikha at pagpapalaganap ng pambansang karunungan at kaunlaran. Food is very important in our life and our health. And we all know that fruits and vegetables are nutritious food. It is our source of vitamins and minerals that we need to function and without any pf these, our body wouldn't work properly. It is also provide energy to do our work like doing household chorea, making our assignments and many more. People nowadays just eat in the fastfood chains, restaurants or in markets just to satisfy hungry stomachs. They do not think on what they will get in the food they eat as long as it taste delicious. It is not important that we need to eat expensive foods what matters is the foods that contain nutrients. Eating properly and the right amount of food is a contribution of nutrition to prevent diseases and foundation for a healthy body. Health is very important so we should take care of it. Be smart in choosing and buying to the food we eat. Instead of buying just plant your own fruits and vegetables.

It's a blessing to have a chance to write you a letter. Before anything else I would like to introduce myself I am Jeline Soberano, a grade 10 student of Ilocos Sur National High School, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur and I am 15 years old.              I am very happy and thankful to you Mr. President for being a great President or leader to us. Philippine Independence Day

June 12, it is one of the most important date here in the Philippines. The day we celebrate Independence Day. And also the day we garnered our freedom from the Spaniards. We've been invaded for about 333 years by foreign invaders including the three most powerful invaders, the Americans, the Spaniards and the Japanese soldiers. We become slave in our own country, treated brutally and ruled by a cruel leaders. We Filipinos celebrate Independence day because it brings honor for those who spent their lives seeking to end the abuses of the Spaniards.
