Children's Rights

World Children’s Day is an opportunity to focus on progress the world’s made toward protecting children’s rights — and the future: Our children.  It is an opportunity to do something special for the young ones. The International Children's Day is celebrated as International Day for Protection of Children on October. The celebration seeks to emphasize the importance of the role of the child within the Filipino family and in nation building. It is all about treasuring children; praising and encouraging them to lead a fruitful life that is full of new experiences and adventure.

Children as well as adults have human rights. Children also have the right to special protection because of their vulnerability to exploitation and abuse. Children's rights are the human rights of children with particular attention to the rights of special protection and care afforded to minors.Children’s rights are human rights. Children must be treated with equality, respect and dignity. All humans are born inherent with fundamental freedoms and rights. Children must enjoy the same human rights as everybody else - from the right to freedom of expression to the right to privacy. This means all human rights laws apply equally to children and adults.
